Cleaning the traces left on a shared PC
PrivaZer examines data left by everyday computer use: browser information, recently opened documents, temporary files and other local traces. Its purpose is especially relevant when you want to reduce what another person using the same Windows account can discover about previous activity. That is a different decision from simply finding the largest folder. A small history database may matter for privacy even when deleting it recovers almost no disk space.
Goversoft offers Free and Pro editions as well as installed and portable downloads. The official compatibility list includes Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and 11, with 32-bit, 64-bit and ARM64 systems. This broad list does not mean that an old Windows installation receives current security updates from Microsoft. Choose a package from the publisher, check the displayed version and keep ordinary system protection separate from privacy cleanup.
Decide what you still need before scanning
Save work and close the applications whose data you intend to examine. Browser cookies can preserve a signed-in session, recent-document lists can be useful shortcuts, and diagnostic logs may help explain an unresolved crash. Removing those items has consequences even when the files themselves are small. Review the available categories individually, keeping anything whose purpose you cannot identify. The first run should be a limited, understandable operation rather than a sweep of every checkbox.
Start with a scan and examine its findings before confirming deletion. Distinguish a record pointing to a document from the document itself, and read the scope of each proposed operation. If you need to preserve a browser session or a particular application's settings, make that choice before cleanup begins. For important personal documents, maintain an independent backup. A restore point is not a substitute for a copy of files that you deliberately remove.
Understand deep cleanup and free space
PrivaZer includes options for residual traces and secure deletion. Work involving free space can take considerably longer than clearing a small cache because it addresses a different amount of storage. Do not make an intensive pass a daily ritual without a specific reason. Keep a laptop connected to power and leave enough time for the selected operation; interruption is not a useful way to test a cleanup plan.
An SSD manages physical storage internally, so a software cleanup cannot provide an unconditional promise that every historic copy is unrecoverable. Copies can also survive in backups, synchronized folders or online accounts. PrivaZer operates on the local data within the selected scope. It does not erase a website's server records, make browsing anonymous or replace antivirus protection. Evaluate the result by the actual traces removed, not by a general claim of invisibility.
Free and Pro in a practical workflow
The Pro comparison lists conveniences such as automatic internet-trace cleanup, cleanup before shutdown and command-line support. Check the current contribution and update terms if those capabilities matter; do not assume every automation option is included in Free. For a simpler category-based approach, BleachBit is another option. Wise Disk Cleaner is more focused on routine space cleanup. Choose one clear workflow, review its settings and avoid scheduling several cleaners to act on the same browser data.
